Purpose of center:
The Waksman Institute of Microbiology is an interdisciplinary research institute devoted to excellence in basic research. While in the early days research here focused on microbiology, current research encompasses a broad range of interests in developmental biology, cell biology, biochemistry, structural biology, genetics, and genomics.
